Milestones

Civil Engineering officially opened in 2011, with teaching anchored in the Integrated Civil Engineering Laboratory, it includes labs for Concrete Technology, Soil Mechanics, Highway/Transportation, Fluid & Hydraulics, and Surveying, serving education, research, and external industry testing.
Students joined the Sakura Science Exchange Program with Nihon University, Japan, gaining exposure to international labs and practices in civil and environmental engineering.
Civil Engineering earned its first “A” accreditation from BAN-PT (Decree No. 620/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/IV/2019).
Backed by PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), the Integrated Environmental Laboratory began operation in 2021. Although primarily serving Environmental Engineering, it supports cross-program use including Civil Engineering, particularly for environmental testing.
New facilities including classrooms, advising rooms, a student lounge, and a mini studio were opened on the 41st floor of Bakrie Tower, enhancing support for capstone projects and lab-based work.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management was extended to include Civil Engineering laboratories, ensuring that teaching and research activities meet global standards.
Civil Engineering achieved “Unggul” status from LAM-TEKNIK under decree No. 0146/SK/LAM-Teknik/AS/IV/2024, valid from 21 April 2024 to 20 April 2029.
The Civil Engineering program earned international accreditation from the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE). This milestone places the program among internationally recognized engineering programs in Indonesia.
